Colonel Douglas E. Stall (retired) entered the profession of arms on June 7, 1982 as an Officer Candidate for the Unites States Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia. After completing both increments of his entry level training as a Marine Officer Candidate, he went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University in 1985 and entered the University of Tulsa College of Law. The Marine Corps commissioned Colonel Stall as a Second Lieutenant with a date of rank of January 5, 1987. He graduated from law school in 1989, and entered active duty with the U. S. Marine Corps on October 8, 1989 at The Basic School, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, in Quantico, Virginia. While on active duty, Colonel Stall served with the 1st Force Service Support Group at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California. Colonel Stall then joined the AT/TOW Company, 4th Tank Battalion, U. S. Marine Corps Reserve, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where he served until July 1997.
In January 2001, Colonel Stall joined the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oklahoma Army National Guard. As a member of the 45th Infantry Brigade, Colonel Stall served in a variety of positions including Infantry Battalion Operations Officer, Infantry Battalion Executive Officer, and as the Brigade Executive Officer. From June 2006 to June 2009, Colonel Stall commanded the 1st Battalion 279th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. While in command of the 1st Battalion 279th Infantry Regiment, Colonel Stall and the battalion deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In January 2011, he was promoted to Colonel and assigned as the Commander of Camp Gruber Joint Maneuver Training Site where he served until January 2014. Most recently, Colonel Stall served as the Deputy Commanding Officer of the 45th Infantry Brigade.
Colonel Stall is a graduate of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Infantry Officer Course; the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Amphibious Warfare School; the U. S. Army Combined Arms and Services Staff School; the U.S. Army Pre-Command Course; and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course. In 2011, Colonel Stall graduated from the U.S. Army War College with a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law.
Colonel Stall’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Oklahoma Distinguished Service Medal, Oklahoma State Active Duty Medal, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
